Application details & requirements

The JSL of Americus is offering two $1500 JSL Scholarship to college of choice.

  • One scholarship will be awarded to a relative of a current or past JSL member.

  • One scholarship will be awarded to a student with no ties to JSL.

Criteria

  • Student must be a current senior

  • Student must have 3.2 or higher GPA

  • Student must be a resident of Sumter County for at least 4 years

Application Process:

  • Student must fill out the attached application

  • Student must present a letter of recommendation

  • Student must present a 500 word essay about themselves and their future plans

The JSL Board will Vote and decide who will be awarded the scholarship based on:

  • Highest GPA

  • Recommendation letter

  • Essay

Applications must be received by Friday, May 2, 2025.
